Welcome to Doncaster Bright Ideas 2011
To mark the climax of the DE4L Project, we are delighted to announce the launch of the Doncaster Bright Ideas 2011 competition.
The competition is open to teams of young people, of all ages, within Doncaster Primary, Secondary and Special schools and Doncaster College. It will enable young people to develop and present their business ideas on-line, providing an exciting and unique opportunity for them to develop their entrepreneurial skills and knowledge.

We are doing a Spring Fling (Easter Fair) and our stall is a 'Feely Box', where you have to identify the object without looking and a Buntastic stall. This is like a raffle, but the buns are stuck underneath bun cases - we are very creative with our ideas.
We are recycling and reusing stock from the Wednesday Wonderland. This means that we are making the most money as we are using up surplus stock. We are very enterprising!

On the 5th of April our group is doing penalty shootout.
You have to score against the goalkeeper, Blake. Who plays for Hull acadamy. All funds go to RSPCA.

Following the success of our talent show we decided to to arrange a spring fling. The spring fling(an easter fair) will take place on the 5th of April in our shared area.
We are doing a 'Feely Box' competition, where people have to identify the object without looking. Prizes are pencils and sweets that were left over from the Wednesday Wonderland before Christmas. We believe in recycling and re-using our stock to make the most profit.

We have been enjoying our project so far but this is going to be real fun. We have also done a bun sale which has rased £4.00 for the RSPCA.

Our next project is the Spring Fling, which is an Easter Fair. This will happen on the 5th of April afterschool. Me and Hollie are doing a straw game- people have to choose a straw out of a tray. If they pull out a short straw, they lose, and if they pull out a long straw - they win!! The prizes are lollies, sweets and small Easter eggs. Our parents are donating these so we keep costs down.
Judith is making Easter cards to sell,.. she's very busy.

We joined a Childrens Universty/Enterprice challege to design aneducational maths game.We closed the gap in the market by producing a maths game for boys, because most maths games are aimed at girls.We decided to come up with a mind boogleing company name RAW GO

As part as childrens university we have been to the college to learn enterprise skills. We have learnt financial skills, team work, how to solve problems, presentation skills and leadership. We all worked together as a team to build a fun educational maths game for children aged 3 to 6. When we was designing our game we had to think about what children liked also how to include maths in our game. We also had to work out how much money it would cost to build our game and where it would be sold. We finally finished designing our game and made a prentation to present our game to the `dragons den`. All the presentations were judged and now our aim is to build a prototype in school with a view to selling it.

As a part of Childrens University we had the chance to design and market an educational maths game. We called our game Splash Maths. Every Tuesday for the last month, we have gone to the Doncaster Hub to work on our project. We allocated our selves roles and responsibilitys but worked in a team to devolope our idea. We had to think of the product, costs involved, marketing, production and where it would be sold. We then had to produce a presentation to explain our game. We did this to a panal of 'dragons'. They were all professional business people. We all enjoyed this opportunity to experience the role of a person in business . We think we were successful and we got good feedback from the judges. We are also going on to make a prototype of our product with a view of marketing it in the future.

Wednesday wonderland
During the summer term we opened a shop in the school libary. There were 6 businesses. Wednesday wonderland was a big hit for all the 6 weeks it was running. the winning team was Girl Power. We made bookmarks and posters on the computer to sell and our teatcher sold us some stuff to sell. All together we made £125.
It was great fun for every one!!!!!!!!!!

At our Enterprise club we split into 6 teams. The teams were groups of 5 or 6. Each group got given £3.00 float to start off. Our teacher Mrs Thompson went out and brought stationery things for us to buy off her for the cost price.
We next sold them in our Wednesday lunchtime shop called Wendnesday Wonderland. Amazingly all our teams got around £4.00 and we carried on doing the same thing for 6 weeks. Astonishingly we earned a grand total of £125 however our head teacher offered to double this to£250 which she did.

Barnby Dun's got talent
It was awsome!!!
There was singers, magicians and dancers. we raised £25.46 for RSPCA. The judges were 4 children and 4 teachers including the headteacher, Mrs Robinson.
It was held on 11.2.11 in the school hall. It was from 2:00pm to 3:15pm.
Barnby Dun's got talentwas a great succses and every one enjoyed it.

Wensday Wonderland was fantastic. There was many people who came to buy stuff and objects from the shops. All the six shops raised alot of money and the money is going to buy the school stuff for a radio station.
Some of the Bizzy Bees will be running the radio staition and the group which won the Wensday wonderland was the team girl power who raised £40.00 as a group and if we did it again I bet the school would be very happy because they enjoyed it a first time they will like it again.

Barnby Duns got talent was a great hit. There was a wide range of acts from singing to magic. We had 8 judges Will was one of them he wished we had buzzers and quoted "I hope there will be another talent show!" The show was in the school hall it was from 2 o'clock to 3:15 (we ran over time!)

First day over never thought I would sell out as quick as I did even with 2 trays of 6 muffins, 1 tray of 18 buns and 2 trays of 24 cans of pop.
Slightly glad that the nerves didn't get the better of me during it all and that I was sold out within 10 minutes.
